Cookie
Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what we store in your browser when you visit kinerix.gg, why we store it, and how you can clear it. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
The short version: we use only essential, first-party browser storage. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies that profile you across sites.
1. What Are Cookies (and what we actually use)
"Cookies" is the common term for small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. Technically, modern browsers offer several storage mechanisms — classic cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB. Kinerix does not set any classic HTTP cookies on this domain. What we use is localStorage, a browser feature that stores small key-value pairs on your device only.
localStorage is not transmitted to any server with your requests. It stays on your device and is readable only by code from kinerix.gg.
2. What We Store (Full List)
Every entry we set in your browser, what it does, how long it lives:
| Key | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
kinerix_lang |
Remembers the language you selected (en, de, fr) so you don't have to pick it again on the next visit. | Essential | Until you clear it |
kinerix_cookie_consent |
Remembers your choice on the cookie banner (accept / reject) so we don't show it again on every page load. | Essential | Until you clear it |
That is the complete list. We do not set anything else.
3. What We Do NOT Use
- No tracking cookies — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Mixpanel, no Plausible, no Fathom, nothing.
- No advertising cookies — we don't run ads on this site.
- No third-party cookies — your browser does not receive cookies from any party other than kinerix.gg.
- No fingerprinting — we don't fingerprint your device.
- No session-replay tools — no Hotjar, no FullStory, no LogRocket.
- No social-media tracking pixels — sharing this site via X or Discord uses standard links, not embedded trackers.
4. Third-Party Services
This site loads no third-party scripts, widgets, or embedded content, and fonts are self-hosted. As a result no third party sets any browser entry through this site, and no external service receives your browsing data.
5. Legal Basis
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, storing data on a user's device requires either (a) consent, or (b) that the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service the user explicitly requested. All entries listed in section 2 are strictly necessary: without them, your language choice would reset on every page load, the cookie banner would re-appear on every visit.
Because these are strictly necessary first-party entries, no consent is legally required. The banner exists for transparency.
6. How to Clear or Block Cookies
You can clear, block, or inspect everything we store at any time, in your browser settings. Quick paths:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → search for kinerix.gg → Delete.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search for kinerix.gg → Remove.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search for kinerix.gg → Remove.
- Mobile browsers: in the browser settings, find "Clear browsing data" or "Site settings".
You can also block storage entirely for our domain in your browser settings. The site will still work; you will just see the language picker and cookie banner on every visit.
7. Do Not Track
We do not perform any tracking that DNT signals would block, so there is nothing for us to honour or ignore. We simply do not track.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change what we store in your browser, we will update the table in section 2 and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be flagged via the cookie banner.
9. Questions
For any question about cookies or browser storage on this site, contact support@kinerix.gg. We respond within 7 working days.
